Chasing 256 in the fourth ODI, Australia needed 19 runs to win the last over. Bowling all-rounder Matthew Kuhnemann made a desperate attempt. He made 14 off five balls with three boundaries From Dasun Shanakar's Bowling.

5 runs were needed to win the last ball. Kuhneman also played the last ball floating in the air. But the cover was caught by Charith Asalankar. Australia was all out for 254 runs. The Lankans got a great victory of 4 runs. The five-match ODI series at home was won 3-1. This is the first ODI series win in 30 years against a strong Australia at home. And winning a bilateral series after 12 years.
This victory is a big thing for them in the difficult times of the country. It brought an occasion of joy even in difficult times for the people of the country.

Sri Lanka batted first at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Tuesday and scored 256 runs for the loss of all wickets in 49 overs. In reply, Australia lost all their wickets in 50 overs and could not score more than 254 runs.

Even today, Australia, however, started well and fell to the spin. David Warner played great in the beginning. The opening batsman was dismissed for 99 runs.

Australia was 179 for 4 in 35.5 overs. The victory was within reach. But then they lost the last 6 wickets for only 75 runs. The situation could have been worse had it not been for Pat Cummins' 35-run innings. And Kuhnman would not have scored 14 runs in the last over.

Out of Warner's 99 and Cummins' 35, Travis Head scored 28 and Mitchell Marsh 28 runs. Chamika Karunaratne, Dhananjaya de Silva and Jeffrey Bandarse took two wickets each.

Earlier, Asalanka and Dhananjaya contributed to Sri Lanka's 256-run innings. After losing 3 wickets for 34 runs, they made a pair of 101 runs. Dhananjaya was dismissed for 60 but Asalanka picked up a century. He scored 110 off 106 balls with 10 fours and 1 six. Besides, if Wanindu Hasaranga scored 21 runs unbeaten, the hosts got 256 runs.
