The missing Nepalese plane with 22 passengers onboard has been found. 21 bodies have been found from the plane that crashed near the Lamche River in the foothills of the Himalayas.
The Nepal Army told the Kathmandu Post on Monday that the plane was found at a depth of 14,500 feet in Sano Soar Veer, Thasang, in Mustang district in northwestern Nepal, about 20 hours after it went missing.
Nepal Army Brigadier General Narayan Silvoal shared pictures of the wreckage on social media on Monday morning. A spokesman of the airline, Sudarshan Bartaula, said rescuers had found dead bodies.
According to airline authorities, the small plane was en route to Jomsom, about 200 km northwest of Kathmandu and about 80 km northwest of the tourist town of Pokhara.
A private airliner went missing after 10 a.m. on Sunday (May 29). The plane was carrying 13 Nepalese nationals, 4 Indian nationals, 2 German nationals, and 3 crew members.
